The solution has to come from citizens. To move from complaint to action, a diverse group of citizens, civil societies and representatives of the private sector worked on an initiative to create the General Law of Administrative Responsibilities, which they called: Citizens Initiative for Act 3de3.
This law proposes to establish as an obligation for all representatives, senators, mayors, governors and the president to make the following three public declarations: assets, interests and tax declarations. It also defines clear rules of conduct for public servants and private actors, as well as penalties for those who indulge in corruption.
Organizations like the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO for its acronym in Spanish), Mexican Transparency, the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE for its acronym in Spanish), the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM for its acronym in Spanish), the Business Coordinating Council (CCE for its acronym in Spanish), and Mexicos Employers Confederation (Coparmex for its acronym in Spanish) signed said complementary project to the National Anti-Corruption System; and they called on citizens to add their signature to reach 120,000, which is the minimum required to submit it to the Mexican Congress.
