Get ready, food and culture lovers! The third edition of the Paella, Flamenco + Wine Festival is coming to Rosarito, and it promises an unforgettable day of family fun, authentic Spanish cuisine, local Baja flavors, and live entertainment, all with free admission!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 23rd. This year’s festival will take over Festival Plaza in the heart of Rosarito, a central and easily accessible venue for families coming from both Baja California and across the border.
What to Expect at the 3rd Annual Paella, Flamenco + Wine Festival
Doors open at 11:00 a.m., and from that moment on, master paella chefs will be hard at work preparing this iconic Spanish dish right on the spot.
Attendees can also explore a vibrant selection of local crafts, delicious desserts, artisanal breads, and products from two regional wineries and two tequila houses.
Live music and entertainment will keep the energy high throughout the day, including a special performance by Norma Michell, a renowned flamenco dancer and instructor who will bring the true spirit of Spain to the stage.
The Rosarito Tourism and Conventions Committee is proud to host this event, which is completely free and expected to draw around 500 visitors over the course of the day.
Among the featured paella chefs is Rafael Pérez Hernández of Paellas JR. For Rafael, this will be his first time at the festival, and he’s bringing something special: his signature “Baja paella,” made proudly with regional ingredients like local mussels and octopus.
To make things easier for everyone, organizers have agreed on a set price of $220 pesos per paella dish, which includes two bread rolls on the side.
Other food and drink stands will offer a variety of options to suit every taste, from refreshing lemonades to regional wines and more.
Keep in mind that each vendor handles its own payments, and whether they accept cash or card may vary. It’s a good idea to come prepared so you can fully enjoy everything this third annual festival has to offer.
