This is what happens with "The Day of the Dead", a Mexican tradition has a mesoamerican origin, but ever more celebrated in many parts of the world, and San Diego has undoubtedly joined the party, mostly because the proximity it has with Mexico.

2.- The 4th Annual "Dia de los Muertos" Skull Art Show
"La Bodega" Gallery is organizing this event to exhibit art made by 50 artists. Skulls in white ceramic and traditional altars will be part of the variety of works. This exhibition seeks to explore feelings toward death and renaissance, also, Israel Maldonado will surprise everyone with and special performance.

3.- La Colonia Dia de los Muertos 2016
This event will have as a main activity the showing of "The Book of Life", movie that represents this tradition in a beautiful way. There will be Catrinas and Catrines makeup contests, a car exhibition, stands, food, altars, Aztec dance, music and more.

4.- The Walk of the Dead
This will be a 3 mile walk in honour of "The Dead",
which seeks to create a kind and unifying environment between the families. After the race, get ready to enjoy of folkloric dance performances, theater plays, food stands, and Mariachi. Money raised will go to the Corazon de Vida Fundraiser to help orphaned and abandoned children of Baja California.

5.- The 21st Annual "Day of the Dead" Festival
Music, regional folkloric dance, food, crafts and children's activities such as face painting will be part of this big event.
Morrissey songs will be performed in Spanish to give a nice twist to the evening. This will be called "Mexico goes Morrisey."
