"Tijuana Innovadora, Intelligent Border 2012", begins.

Nobel Prizes, technology icons, philanthropists and entrepreneurs among all speakers.

"Tijuana is technology and at the same time it's Julieta Venegas, its el 'Terrible' Morales, and its every tijuanense that is present in the life of this great city", is what the president of Mexico, Felipe Calderón said during the inauguration

of "Tijuana Innovadora, la Frontera Inteligente 2012", which in the next 10 days will hold very high level seminars and presenters, with the intention to give this city and the entire state of Baja California a positive view.

Another important note the president of Mexico wanted to share, is that Tijuana will be the first city in the country that will move forward with the "analogical blackout" of 2013, and that the transition from analogical TV signal to digital will conclude on December 31 2015.

The mayor of Tijuana Carlos Bustamante Achondo, expressed positive words with the audience: "Tijuana is showing that we are making the great effort and perseverance of society, so that this border is a place of growth and opportunities for our country".

Carlos Bustamante also thanked some guests for their attendance and support to the event. "That's how I shared it with my colleague Jerry Sanders, the mayor of San Diego.

We both agreed upon the conviction that we are two cities; we are also a great region. Thank you mayor Sanders for stimulating the vision, sharing responsibilities, and for the constructive dialogue for both of our great nations".

Politicians and entrepreneurs from both sides of the border attended the inauguration.

The congressman Bob Filner who is also a candidate for mayor of San Diego, upon his arrival to the event said "this is a great event and it's important to see what is going on here, because both San Diego and Tijuana share a lot of similar problems, and it's important for us to work together towards solutions that will benefit the people of San Diego and this border city".

The event features pavilions exhibiting local industry, from automotive factories to high-tech prosthesis, some free conferences and other that have a cost that have guest speakers like the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniack, also the entrepreneur and philanthropist Blake Mycoskie, who is the founder of Toms shoes.

Thousands of people are expected to attend this 10 daylong event that will be from October 11th-21st.

In Tijuana there is a lot of speculation to see if the event will attract a lot of visitors and also the international spot light, like it did in its last edition.

It will be noticeable in the next few days if "Tijuana Innovadora" has not lost its shine, due to the economic and security changes the city has gone through, or if the event will be affect by other activities and concerts that will be going around the same dates.

This coming weekend there will be a culinary fest that is celebrate with great tradition, and also some cultural activities as well as concerts, that go from the youngest up and coming artists like the "Vasquez Sounds", to the oldest and great icon of Mexican popular music, Juan Gabriel.
