Juan Manuel Ocegueda, rector of the Autonomous University of Baja California, recently assured the media that, according to recent studies conducted by the school, 80% of their students find a job related to their degree in a six-month-to-a-year period.
Around 2,106 undergrads from the Tijuana Campus' different faculties and 4,884 from Baja California in general will finish their degrees at the end of this semester and, despite the current state of Mexico's job market, Ocegueda stated he feels optimist about new generations finding employment directly related to their field.
"While it is true that today's economy is a little restrictive, so to speak, we are optimist about most of our graduates finding activities where they can work within their field of specialty", Ocegueda said.
He added that entrepreneurship has been encouraged within the university since past administrations, pointing that 1 in 10 students will be in charge of their own professional work when starting their careers.
