Sao Paulo traffic causes USMNT scrimmage against Belgium to be canceled

The closed door scrimmage was suppose to take place at the USA training facilities.

SAO PAULO - The United States Men's National Team (USMNT) were suppose to hold a closed door scrimmage against fellow World Cup participants Belgium on Wednesday afternoon. The match ended up being canceled by the Belgium side due to the heavy traffic in the city of Sao Paulo.

The match was suppose to have been played at Sao Paulo's Futebol Clube where the USMNT have been training since they arrived in Brazil last Monday. Belgium who are stationed 30 miles away opted to not do the trip because of the traffic in the city.

The city of Sao Paulo is known to have bad traffic congestion, and this situation has only gotten worse since the Subway workers went on strike last Thursday.
