As of last Sunday, January 31st, the number of active cases of COVID-19 decreased in all municipalities of Baja California, making the state go from one thousand 217 to one thousand and 84 as of this Monday morning.

Tijuana continues to register the majority of active cases; however, it went from 541 to 490 overnight. Mexicali went from 323 to 278, Ensenada from 191 to 170, San Quintin from 72 to 66, Rosarito from 40 to 36, Tecate from 27 to 24 and San Felipe from 23 to 22.

Despite this, let's remember that the state continues this week under the red traffic light.

"We are doing things very well, we are going to continue like this and soon we will move to another coloration, right now is not that time, we are going to consolidate what we have gained in relation to the reopening of activities, we are going to continue taking care of ourselves and we are going to be in a much better position of well-being", expressed the Secretary of Health Alonso Pérez Rico during his report this Monday.

On the other hand, the number of Baja Californians infected by the coronavirus has reached 40 thousand 925, most of them registered in Mexicali with a total of 15 thousand 843 positive cases. Regarding deaths, 6 thousand 734 have been registered so far, only 3 thousand and 6 of them in Tijuana.

Pérez Rico also informed that hospital occupancy is going down, after being 48% on Monday morning, in addition to having 503 beds and 186 ventilators in the state to deal with the pandemic.
