TIJUANA The local reality show participant has been tossed out of "The Academy."
The judges voted Frank Díaz off the popular program, which airs in Mexico and the United States on Sunday nights.
The goal of the show is to find the next star of Latin American entertainment.
Participants attend an "academy," where they fine tune their singing, dancing and acting skills, and then perform a selected song on the program, which airs on Sunday nights.
Díaz who grew up in the border region, had a roller coaster experience on the show.
One judge told him he had talent and predicted he would be a winner.
Another judge insisted, however, that he lose weight.
Over the weeks, the judges panned him several times but every time the viewers saved him.
Not so on Sunday night. The judges "sentenced" him off the show following his interpretation of "Sentimental."
