Monday night football, Sunday brunches and more…and all right in the little Sea of Cortez town of San Felipe!

When you're looking for San Felipe restaurants, you might want to consider the Sweet Spot. Why? Because it offers just that – a sweet spot to have drinks and appetizers with friends, enjoy the big game on a big screen or dine on a scrumptious dinner prepared by Chef Jesus Camargo, winner of the 2011 San Felipe Ceviche Fest. It has a spacious outdoor patio and bar area or for a more elegant experience, an inside dining room. Often, the menu includes a fresh catch-of-the-day entrée and drink specials. Some of my favorites are mango shrimp and fish ceviche with an ice-cold cerveza or margarita.

Not only is the ambiance sweet, but the location is too. It's right on the malecon in downtown San Felipe, (impossible to miss, so don't worry about an address), so you get awesome views of the Sea of Cortez and ample opportunities to people watch. The Sweet Spot is open Thursday through Sunday. The summer hours are 3:00 pm – midnight for the bar and 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm for the restaurant. Also, starting in August you can enjoy Monday Night Football which starts at 5:30 pm. Visit The Sweet Spot, San Felipe, on Facebook.

The Sweet Spot is a great place to hang-out during San Felipe's big events — the Shrimp Festival in November, the Blues Festival in spring, and so on.
