The Safety in Tijuana

In spite of the difficult times that Tijuana went through a few years ago, Monraz said that he is aware of this difference. People can now go out worry-free, tourists can feel secure when visiting the city, but this does not mean that the city should let its guard down.

Prevention programs that begin at home would be something very fundamental. Linking them to educational areas afterwards to attack the problem at its root is what would be needed in order to be successful. With this strategy he also talked about attacking the issue of sex trafficking, a problem that affects several border cities where Tijuana was no exception.

The Best Part of Tijuana

While it may sound like a cliché, Alejandro Monraz said that the best part of Tijuana was their tenacious, hardworking and generous people. The border city has been like a big pool of ideologies, culture, and flavors that has made Tijuana into something special.
