As previously reported, vaccination against COVID-19 for adults over 60 years of age will begin next week in Tijuana.
This was reaffirmed by authorities this Friday, who stated that between Monday or Tuesday the doses will be applied to this sector of the population, expecting to cover 100% in one week, as long as the vaccine is available.
It is estimated that there are more than 160 thousand seniors in Tijuana, so they are looking to vaccinate between 20 thousand and 25 thousand people per day; for this, three massive vaccination sites and 10 additional sites will be installed.
The head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, commented that all the details about the vaccination in the border city and the points to get vaccinated will be announced today, requesting in advance not to wait in line at these sites.
So far 119 thousand 600 seniors have been vaccinated in Baja California, and 40 thousand 587 doses are available, of which 17 thousand and 35 from Pfizer will be destined to Mexicali, 340 from AstraZeneca to the rural area of the state capital, and the 23 thousand 212 from Sinovac will be for the urban area of Ensenada.
