TIJUANA – Jorge Almiron was clear cut in his press conference interview after the Wednesday night defeat to Correcaminos. He realizes it was not a good game at all, but it does leave him with some conclusions of what needs to be worked out before the week one game against Atlas.

"I take plenty of conclusions from this game; the game against America was totally different. Today we had some misshapes on defense, but those are things we are still trying to work out" said Xolos manager Almiron

He praised the work done by U.S. International Paul Arriola who scored the lone Tijuana Xolos goal. He is the one player who has caused the most surprise to the new manager. Originally Arriola was brought in to play with the U-20 squad but his performances might earn him a spot with the first team.

"The idea was to take a good look at everyone; there are players who don't have that much time in the squad. I want to get a feel for what my starting eleven will be. There have also been some nice surprises like Paul Arriola" commented Almiron.

He thanked the fans for their patience and understanding that this is still only preseason. He said the fans were exemplary because in any other first division stadium a loss to a second division team would cause "boos"

"The fans were exemplary. In any other stadium they'll boo and insult you if you lose to a second division team" acknowledged the Tijuana Xolos manager.

The assured everyone that there will be improvement in Saturday night's game against Dorados de Sinaloa.

"I'll be sending out what could possibly be the starting lineup in week one on Saturday. The ideal is to get everyone in good rhythm for the start of the season" concluded Almiron.
