Due to the high temperatures in the state capital, the El Peregrino Shelter, operated by the Mexicali government, continues to offer refuge to migrants and vulnerable individuals to help prevent heat-related harm.

Karla Edith González Navarro, president of the DIF Mexicali Board, reported that the shelter currently houses 86 people, although it has capacity for 330. The facility provides air-conditioned areas, meals, and 24-hour care.

González Navarro reminded that the shelter is located on Calzada de Los Presidentes, near the corner of Ciudad Victoria Street. She also called on the public to share this information with those who may need it or, if assistance is required, to call (686) 233 5281.
