Baja Med cuisine, seafood, Mediterranean, and other international dishes were exhibited in the "Amigos en la Playa" event to show the talent of seven local chefs, all with the main objective of promoting the regional cuisine and consolidating tourist packages for a longer stay.

Edrick Reyes, General Manager of Castillos del Mar, said that this event was developed to invite Baja California residents and visitors to consume what is produced in the state and eliminate the stigma that Baja Med cuisine is expensive.

Participating chefs such as Giovanni Bracea, Rodolfo Luviano, Bernardo Piña, "El Oso" de taquitos de "Copetel," Christian Acosta, Baron Balché, and the host chef, Silvia Lizárraga, innovated dishes by cooking them beyond their specialties. For example, Giovanny Bracea, who specializes in sausages, cooked seafood dishes, and others specializing in Baja Med dishes, cooked Mediterranean food.

There were 50 guests who tasted shrimp, aged meat of 46 days, young wines, and others aged from 12 to 16 months in barrels, datil (date) ice cream, marrow cream and epazote, all of this in a dynamic dinner, which with creativity and simplicity, promoted aquaculture, agricultural, and livestock products, as well as wine and craft beer.

While tourist servers are looking to offer quality products, Frederick Melendrez said that they focus primarily on providing warmth and human quality care, "because of the treatment our visitors receive, it is spreading the mood to return, and attract more tourists."

Adapting to an increasingly demanding tourism, they no longer only offer rooms, but different destinations of Baja California, which in the case of Playas de Rosarito, includes visits to the Submarine Park and a large Variety of service offerings.

With approximately 5 million visitors each year, the young municipality of Playas de Rosarito is consolidated as a tourist destination, occupying the first place of the most visited in the state, followed by Tijuana and Ensenada, the Wine Route, San Felipe, Bahia de Los Angeles, and San Quintín, among others.

Even places like Castillos del Mar ceased to be only characterized by social events, to become the first Boutique Hotel in the region, with the only Beach Club, a Mediterranean cuisine menu with local products, spa services, surfing equipment, sailing in buggie board, and snorkeling.

In this way, Playas de Rosarito and all the destinations of Baja California are being innovated, not only with sun and beach tourism, also in health, ecotourism, and cultural envornment, such as the footage of the series Fear The Walking Dead, and the filming of other movies and some music videos.
