TIJUANA, BC.- Successful Coach Angel Gonzalez will now lead Tijuana Zonkeys in their objective of being the next champions of the Basketball Circuito of the Pacific Coast (Cibacopa in Spanish), the team announced this Saturday.

Born in Chihuahua, Gonzalez coached the UACJ Indios to the 1992 championship, followed by the Monterrey Rayados in 1995 in the Basketball Professional Conference (CBP in Spanish).

He then went onto coach the Xalapa Halcones, where he was crowned champion in 2005 and 2009-2010; his team was runner up in the 2004, 2006 and 2012-2013 seasons.

His last adventure took him to Guerrero state, where he managed the Acapulco Angeles Guerreros, winning in 17 games.

Zonkeys' season starts on March 28th in Caborca against Mineros; the Opening Night at home will be on April 1st and 2nd against Ciudad Obregon Trigueros in the Auditorio Municipal de Tijuana.
