During the month of April, several campaigns will be taking place to promote a healthy sexuality in the United States.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it's estimated that 1 out of 2 youngsters that are sexually active, will suffer one of these diseases, and most of them without even knowing.

Under the slogan "GYT: Get yourself tested", several organizations are promoting the use of condoms as a measure to prevent pregnancies and diseases.

Each year, 19 million new contagions emerge and even though only 25% of the population who is sexually active is between 15 and 25 years old, half of the contagions have place in this sector.

The call-up also extends to all medical services providers. Recent studies have shown that youngsters prefer the medical staff to start a conversation about sexual health and that only 25% search the Internet for information.

Most of the sufferings are treatable, especially if they are detected on time. The most recurrent sexual diseases are Chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea.

It is estimated that the United States spends 17 billion dollars each year to Sexuality Transmitted Diseases and the consequences that result from late detections.

To find the closest location where you can get yourself tested for STD's, visit The National Network of STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers web site or check the CDC official web site .
