Yesterday, while enjoying a visit to the Verde y Crema restaurant, named also the "Best New Restaurant for 2013" by SanDiegoRed.com readers, I noticed the large variety of craft-beers they offer and decided to take the opportunity to indulge a bit in something new.

[p]For a moment there, I thought about ordering a California IPA from their selection; but, I also thought about how I haven't truly sampled every brew Baja California has to offer, and after trying "Sirena" from Agua Mala a couple of weeks ago, I decided to try "Astillero", another one of their beers.

I was (pleasantly) not disappointed.

"Astillero" is a golden colored but cooper gleaming beer, with floral aromas and intense hops that endure for a while in your tongue. At the same time, the hops are bitter but contrast well with the sweetness of the malt and carbonated to a medium. Its bitter notes and intense aroma are characteristic of this style of beer.
