GUADALAJARA, JALISCO. – With an early goal by Omar Bravo from Atlas, Club Tijuana lost last night with a final score of 1-0 at Jalisco stadium, in a game that was played as part of Week 9 of the Clausura 2013 tournament of the Liga MX.

This victory now puts Atlas in second place on the general standings board.

At the start of the first half, not even a minute had gone by when Diego Olsina centered a pass to Duvier Riascos, who attempted a header towards the arch that was being defended by Miguel Angel Pinto.

Atlas quickly responded with an offensive attack when Omar Bravo got a hold of the ball outside of the goalie area, took it towards the arch and with almost no direction or great force, kicked the ball into the net to put Atlas up 1-0 early on in the game.

The goal by Omar Bravo from Atlas was the result of a mistake by the Xolos defense. In an attempt to get the ball out of their side of the field, Cristian Pellerano made a mistake and instead left the ball right in front of Omar Bravo who took advantage of the play and scored.

Ten minutes later, Cristian Pellerano attempted to score from way outside of the goalie box, but the ball just hit the top cross bar and the goalies back. The ball hit the goal posts many times throughout the game, and saved Atlas from being scored on by the Xolos in their attempt to tie the score in the game.

Now in the second half Xolos was the only team who was creating great plays, but their forwards were not able to capitalize on them with a goal.

With the time now running out Xolos became desperate in trying to score, which only led to two of their players earning a red card and ejected from the game. The first player to leave the game was Joshua Abrego at the 84th minute, and then soon after Fidel Martinez who came into the game as a substitute. Xolos now with very few minutes left on the clock were left with only 9 players on the field.

This is how the game would end with Xolos being defeated in Jalisco, and leaving 3 points behind that were picked up by Atlas who is now in second place.

Club Tijuana Xololitzcuintles de Caliente will now start preparing for their next Copa Libertadores de America match against SC Corianthians Paulista of Brazil.
