BRAZIL – While Club Tijuana traveled towards Brazil, Atletico Mineiro suffered a 2-1 loss in their local league. In the first game of the new season Mineiro took a 2-1 loss to the modest side Coritiba in a game where Ronaldinho and many other starters did not participate.

Mineiro took a dose of their own medicine conceding a goal in the final minutes of the game after having taken the lead. The loss was an away match, and Mineiro did save a lot of their starters awaiting Thursday night’s Copa Libertadores match against Xolos.

Diego Tardelli had given Mineiro the lead after 50 minutes of play, Deivid got the equalizer for the home side four minutes later, and Arthur gave Coritiba the late winner in the 90th minute.

The only players from Mineiro to participated that also saw action in Tijuana were: goalkeeper Victor, Rever, Junior Cesar, Bernard, Pierre, Luan, and Diego Tardelli.
