Baja California has launched its participation in Punto México, a national tourism showcase running from September 3 to 28, with a program that celebrates the region’s cultural, culinary, and travel offerings. The opening ceremony was led by Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, and Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism, Zaida Luz López.
Throughout the month, visitors from across the country and abroad will be able to discover Baja California through a series of free activities, including gastronomic samples, wine and craft beer tastings, destination presentations, and the sale of regional products.
The program also highlights the presence of master artisans and traditional cooks from the Yumana communities—Kiliwa, Cucapá, Pai Pai, and Kumiai—whose workshops and demonstrations showcase their heritage and contributions to community-based tourism. These efforts are part of initiatives promoted by Governor Marina del Pilar, in line with the vision of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
In addition, the Baja California Ministry of Tourism coordinated the participation of municipal tourism offices, giving each destination and its service providers the opportunity to strengthen their presence in the national market.
Through Punto México, Baja California reaffirms its place in key platforms for tourism promotion, while fostering inclusion for artisans, Indigenous communities, and municipalities. The program highlights the state’s hospitality and the variety of experiences that make it a destination like no other.
The event brought together representatives including Claudia Lizbeth Moreno Ramírez, Deputy for Baja California; Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, Head of the Innovation Unit; María Fernanda Valdéz Lerma, Director of Tourism at the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism; Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz; Playas de Tijuana Mayor María del Rocío Adame Muñoz; San Quintín Mayor Miriam Elizabeth Cano Núñez; among others.
