Secretary of Health of Baja California, Alonso Pérez Rico, reported that the governor Jaime Bonilla, who did not attend the daily broadcast, tested positive for the COVID-19 PCR test, so he was at rest at home.

"48 hours ago the governor presented COVID-19 like symptoms, chills and arthralgias” the Secretary shared this Monday.

According to Pérez Rico, Bonilla took the coronavirus test on the morning of Sunday, December 6 after feeling some chills, giving a positive result the afternoon of this same day.

“His scenario is not alarming. In some occasions he saturates above 95% and others he is prone for about 98, 99%, and in that sense we expect a full recovery from him in the coming days,” he commented.

Other members of the current governor’s cabinet who have been diagnosed with coronavirus are the Secretary of Sustainable Economy and Tourism, Mario Escobedo, as well as the Secretary of Infrastructure, Urban Development and Territorial Reorganization, Karen Postlethwaite, as mentioned by the Secretary of Health.

Because of this, the doctor asked the population to continue taking care of themselves and maintaining prevention measures.
