The “Health Caravan,” a major state health initiative, recently arrived in the Ampliación Constitución neighborhood, delivering a wide range of medical and support services directly to residents. Coordinated by the Playas de Rosarito government in collaboration with Baja California’s Health Department, the program aims to bridge the gap between the community and essential healthcare. Services include basic medical consultations as well as specialized procedures, reflecting the government’s commitment to accessible care.
High-ranking officials overseeing the initiative included Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, Mavis Olmeda García, President of the Baja California DIF System, and state’s Minister of Health, Adrián Medina Amarillas, underscoring the program’s importance.

“Health is a priority for both local and state authorities. I am pleased to see the community gathered here taking advantage of these services. These initiatives are crucial for addressing urgent needs and understanding firsthand what our residents require,” Mayor Rocío Adame of Rosarito said.
Officials provided 20 wheelchairs, 20 walkers, 10 canes, 20 hearing aids, glasses, and vouchers for cataract surgeries to support residents.

“Health is a right, not a privilege, and in Baja California, it reaches every corner. Thanks to the joint effort with the Mayor of Playas de Rosarito, the best healthcare professionals are being deployed directly into our neighborhoods,” Governor Marina del Pilar said at the event.
Residents had access to a comprehensive suite of services through mobile units, including:
- Medical consultations, X-rays, and ultrasounds
- Laboratory tests, electrocardiograms, and bone density scans
- Pharmacy, audiology, optometry, and psychology services as well as free haircuts
- Vaccinations and screenings for chronic diseases and tuberculosis

The program also served as a platform for community input, with residents requesting a senior citizens’ home and a new local cemetery. Even family pets benefited, receiving rabies vaccinations, deworming, and flea and tick collars.
