Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda has announced the opening of the application period for the “2026 Regulatory Strengthening Support” program, which will offer subsidies of up to $20,000 pesos per business. The goal is to help more local companies expand, break into new markets, create jobs, and strengthen the regional economy.
The program, led by the state’s Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, provides tools for Baja California’s MSMEs to improve their operations, move toward formalization, and become more competitive.

“We want more businesses in Baja California to keep growing, professionalizing, and bringing their products and services into new commercial spaces. These supports help lower significant costs so entrepreneurs can take the next step in formalizing their businesses and building a stronger market presence,” she said.
The program is open to companies registered with Mexico’s Tax Administration Service (SAT). It covers several specialized services aimed at strengthening product operations and sales.

Available subsidies include:
- Shelf-Life Testing: Up to $10,000 pesos to determine how long a food product remains safe and maintains quality for consumption.
- Nutritional Labeling: Up to $8,000 pesos to help businesses analyze and integrate required nutritional information in line with current regulations.
- Bar Codes: Up to $1,800 pesos for this essential tool needed to sell products through retail chains and formal points of sale.
- Trademark Registration: Up to $2,813.77 pesos to help companies legally protect their commercial identity and boost the value of their products and services.
- Payment Terminal: Up to $1,000 pesos to enable businesses to accept electronic payments and expand sales and customer service options.
According to the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, this initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen Baja California’s business ecosystem and help more MSMEs move forward with formalization, professionalization, and market access.
