The latest edition of the Tianguis Turístico (Tourism Tianguis) was one for the books. Held in Baja California, it stood out not only for the quality of its programming and the variety of destinations showcased, but also for achieving a Guinness World Record.
With more than 7,000 attendees in a single day, the event is now the world’s most visited tourism trade fair of its kind.
On the final day of activities, organizers announced that the 2025 edition had officially secured the Guinness title for “largest attendance at a tourism marketplace in a single day,” with 7,395 participants counted between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on April 29. The previous record stood at 3,000, making this a remarkable achievement for the Mexican tourism industry.

Celebrating 50 Years of Tianguis
The Tianguis Turístico is Mexico’s most important tourism event. For nearly five decades, it has brought together states, municipalities, and companies to promote their destinations and services to national and international buyers.
It’s also a vibrant showcase of Mexico’s cultural, natural, and culinary richness, all with the goal of boosting tourism as a key engine of economic growth.
Guinness Recognizes Mexico’s Impact
During the award presentation, a Guinness representative highlighted that the event “has served as a benchmark for others worldwide seeking to strengthen their tourism offerings.” Although similar events have been held internationally, this is the first time a country has received a Guinness record in this specific category, underscoring Mexico’s leadership in global tourism.
