In a move to boost regional economic development, Baja California’s Department of Innovation and Economy, led by Kurt Honold Morales, has entered a strategic partnership with the national convenience store chain OXXO. The collaboration is designed to increase opportunities for local suppliers and entrepreneurs throughout the state.

The agreement was formalized during the inaugural “Business Factory” event in Tijuana, held at the Real Inn Hotel. The forum serves as a direct pipeline for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to connect with major commercial chains, offering a platform for them to showcase their products and services.

What Does the Agreement with OXXO Entail?

This agreement aims to strengthen the presence and visibility of local and regional suppliers within OXXO’s extensive network of stores. To achieve this, the program will provide participants with access to business matchmaking sessions, formalization advisory services, training workshops, and expert-led conferences.

Luis Nidome, Regional Operations Manager for OXXO in Tijuana, praised the collaboration with the Department of Economy and Innovation. He emphasized that this type of project generates a positive economic and social impact on the community.

“We will offer guidance on logistics, sales processes, and how to adapt products to meet the needs of our branches. Our goal is to create growth opportunities and build sustainable commercial relationships that positively impact the local community,” Nidome stated.
