Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism, Zaida Luz López, participated in the Celebrando Latinas (Celebrating Latinas) binational event, where women from both sides of the border gathered to discuss female leadership, regional development, and the creation of collaborative networks.
During her speech, López emphasized that her appointment as the first woman to lead Baja California’s Department of Tourism reflects the government’s commitment to promoting women’s participation in strategic roles, recognizing and advancing female leadership in tourism development.

She also showcased the state’s tourism strengths, highlighting its diverse experiences, natural and cultural wealth, and its growing reputation as an attractive destination for tourism investment. Thanks to national and international promotional strategies, she noted, Baja California has solidified its status as a leading tourism hub in Mexico.
Finally, López thanked Fanny Miller, Director of El Latino San Diego, for the impactful Celebrando Latinas initiative, which fosters recognition, connection, and empowerment for women driving progress in their communities.
The event aligns with the department’s efforts to strengthen binational ties and boost inclusive and sustainable growth in the tourism sector.
