Let's remember that this process began in the rural areas of the state, and is currently being vaccinated in the urban and suburban areas of Mexicali, as well as in the rural and suburban areas of Ensenada.
Today, two more vaccination points were opened in Mexicali, so in addition to the FEX, which operates with vehicular and pedestrian access from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., seniors can also attend the Cecyte Xochimilco and the Centro de Salud Santa Isabel, which will be available until 3:00 p.m. and only for pedestrians.
In the case of Ensenada, the vaccination sites are at the Lazaro Cardenas high school in Maneadero, and at the Benito Juarez elementary school in Benito Garcia.
According to the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, this morning 15 thousand 600 more doses arrived in a DHL flight from Pfizer, which were stored in ultra cold freezers in Valle de las Palmas, with these vaccines the state has 65 thousand 230 for seniors.
Of this total, 29 thousand 540 are from Pfizer, which will be destined for the urban areas of Mexicali, and 10 thousand and 50 are also from Pfizer for the urban areas of Ensenada. The remaining 25 thousand 640 are from Sinovac, and will be for the rural and suburban areas of Ensenada.
Regarding the vaccination in Tijuana, authorities commented that the logistics will be different due to its structure and population, for which reason they are analyzing how to carry it out based on surnames and neighborhoods.
It is estimated that there are 160 thousand seniors who should be vaccinated in the border city.
