The COVID-19 pandemic has not yet ended in Baja California, so the state will remain under red light on the epidemiological traffic light chart, informed the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico Monday, September 7, morning.

This after accumulating 17 thousand 663 positive cases. Mexicali is the municipality with the highest number of these cases, registering 8 thousand 351, where 21 new cases were also reported.

In turn, the state capital remains the area where most deaths from this virus have been registered, totaling one thousand 473 of the 3 thousand 228 that the state has in total.

However, Baja California still has 578 active cases, of which Tijuana has the majority of these, since it registers 247 cases, with a decrease at the state and municipal levels compared to last Saturday, September 5.

In spite of this context, 10 thousand and 91 Baja California natives have managed to recover from coronavirus, a large part of them from Mexicali, followed by Tijuana and Ensenada; municipalities that are also among the most affected by this pandemic in the region.
