A new binational agreement aimed at boosting nature tourism between Baja California and San Diego is set to be signed in the coming days, according to state tourism officials.
Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda will formalize the collaboration with San Diego’s tourism authority, announced Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, head of the Baja California Secretariat of Tourism.

As part of the initiative, Baja California will be promoted across more than 64,000 hotel rooms in 562 San Diego hotels, a market backed by a $34 million tourism promotion budget.

Tourism Campaign in San Diego
Badiola Montaño added that Baja California will continue its longstanding efforts to promote tourism to the neighboring city. To activate the new agreement, a promotional campaign launched March 28, featuring visibility at 81 San Diego Padres games held at Petco Park.
Additionally, from June 5 through July 31, the campaign will be displayed on six San Diego trolley cars over an eight-week period, further expanding the region’s exposure across the border.
