Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar announced Tuesday the appointment of Miguel Ángel Badiola as the state’s new tourism minister, replacing Zaida Luz López Sánchez, whom she thanked for her work in the role.
The governor shared the announcement on social media and said López Sánchez will continue working within the state government in a different position.
“I am grateful for the work carried out by Zaida López at the Tourism Department, and she will continue contributing her experience from another role within the state government,” she said.
Badiola takes over the agency with the task of strengthening tourism as a key driver of development and well-being in the state. López had held the post for less than six months after being appointed in late July, replacing Miguel Aguíñiga.
