Baja California will be featured in Kellogg’s special-edition “A Piece of Mexico in Every Box” campaign, which will bring illustrations inspired by 12 destinations across Mexico to approximately 10 million Corn Flakes boxes.

The campaign, led by Mexico’s Tourism Secretariat in partnership with Kellogg’s, is designed to highlight destinations across the country and encourage domestic tourism by bringing their landscapes, traditions and attractions directly into Mexican homes.

Baja California’s participation was highlighted by Tourism Secretary Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, who said the campaign provides an opportunity to increase visibility for a state known for its diverse tourism offerings.

Baja California Through an Illustration

For the Baja California edition, Mexican artist Rodrigo Pineapple created an illustration bringing together several elements associated with the state’s coastal and natural landscapes.

The design features the iconic lighthouse in San Felipe, the cardón cacti of the Valley of the Giants, whale watching and swimming experiences, as well as other nature and adventure attractions.

The campaign will also allow families to explore additional information through a QR code, including traditional stories, tourism-related facts and elements of Mexico’s natural and cultural heritage.

A Broader Tourism Push

Badiola Montaño said initiatives such as the Kellogg’s campaign contribute to Baja California’s tourism visibility by showcasing an offering that includes gastronomy, wine tourism, astrotourism, culture, nature, adventure, religious tourism and romance travel.

The campaign is part of broader promotional efforts by the state Tourism Secretariat, including direct outreach to travelers through initiatives such as Ventana México, Sé Turista en tu Baja California and Explore Baja.

The state has also continued efforts aimed at the business and meetings tourism sector, including its participation in IBTM Americas, where 350 business appointments were held for Baja California.

Other promotional activities include destination familiarization trips, including recent efforts focused on romance tourism. Last week, Badiola joined a reception for around 20 wedding planners in Valle de Guadalupe, where they were introduced to part of the state’s tourism offering.

The goal, according to the tourism secretary, is not only to showcase Baja California’s landscapes, but also to tell the stories behind them and encourage people to experience the state firsthand.
