Baja California is projected to receive the highest amount of private investment in Mexico for 2025, with more than $4.22 billion in announced capital. It also leads in estimated job creation, with 18,750 new positions expected. The figures were shared by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, based on data published on the federal platform Data México.
The governor noted that Data México, managed by Mexico’s Ministry of Economy, presents investment forecasts from companies across the country’s 32 federal entities. The latest figures place Baja California at the forefront of national growth.
“We are establishing ourselves as the top state for investment. We have an unbeatable geographic location, but above all, we are a land of skilled and specialized talent,” she stated.
Governor Marina del Pilar added that universities in the region are preparing professionals with internationally competitive training, capable of meeting the demands of the productive sector.
According to federal data, the largest share of investment in Baja California for 2025 is tied to major infrastructure and energy projects. Key examples include development in Punta Colonet and a series of investments by energy company Sempra, which is set to allocate 3.55 billion pesos across multiple initiatives.
Following Baja California, the states with the highest announced investments for 2025 are Nuevo León, with $2.4898 billion; Sonora, with $2.2748 billion; Zacatecas, with $1.5748 billion; and Tamaulipas, with $1.1478 billion, according to Data México.
The governor emphasized that these results are the product of coordinated efforts with the federal government led by President Claudia Sheinbaum, under a shared vision that prioritizes well-being and inclusive prosperity.
