The Baja California Secretariat of Tourism has unveiled the “Wellness Route Among Vineyards” (Ruta Wellness entre Viñedos), offering travelers a fresh way to experience Valle de Guadalupe centered on rest and environmental connection. Designed to highlight the region’s best characteristics, the initiative brings together health, gastronomy, nature, culture, and Baja California’s best tourism offerings.
Baja California Secretary of Tourism Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño emphasized that the project pairs high-end hospitality with authentic regional identity while reinforcing the state’s position as a premier health tourism destination.
“Baja California has learned to reinvent itself by rediscovering its roots. Our hospitality stems directly from our landscapes, our products, our heritage, and, above all, our people. The Wellness Route captures the very best of what Baja California has to offer,” Secretary Badiola stated at Montevalle Resort & SPA.
In its first edition, the program outlines four tours that invite visitors to explore well-being through culinary experiences, relaxing retreats, outdoor activities, and cultural interactions with native Yuman communities.

Wellness Route: Four Unique Tours to Experience Baja California
Tailored for leisure and culinary enthusiasts, the first tour begins with breakfast at Vinícola Don Tomás and a spa session at Rancho El Parral. Guests then enjoy an olive oil tasting at Olibaja, lunch at Montevalle, a visit to the local Russian Museum, a traditional temexkal purification ceremony, and a stop at the Los Globos cheese shop.
Centered on well-being and honoring local history and Indigenous traditions, the second tour starts with breakfast at Entre Valle and a massage at Sereno Valle. Visitors then explore the INAH Museum, enjoy lunch at Fuego Cocina del Valle, embark on a horseback excursion with Equitarius, and participate in a blessing ceremony with native songs in San Antonio Necua, ending with a visit to the Kumiai community museum and artisan shop.

Ideal for travelers seeking recreation and adventure, the third tour opens with a golf demonstration at Montevalle followed by breakfast at Salvia Blanca. Guests then relax at Samsara Spa, tour the historic Museo Casa Domecq, dine at Almatierra, and finish with an off-road Moto Tour at Ojo Azul Resort.
Celebrating the land and its harvests, the fourth tour begins with breakfast at La Cocina de Doña Esthela, followed by a visit to Aires de Lavanda. The day continues with a yoga session at Breathe INN, a tour of the Dear Honey apiary, lunch at Wa Kumiai Tabita, and a visit to the local Kumiai museum and handicraft market.
Elevating Baja California’s Medical Tourism Sector
With Baja California drawing at least 2.8 million medical and health-oriented visitors annually, the Wellness Route aims to connect this bustling medical tourism market with broader leisure experiences in one of the state’s most iconic destinations.
“We are introducing a whole new way to discover Baja California, one where well-being leaves a lasting impression. By combining quality, assistance, unique spaces, health, rest, and respect for culture and the environment, we ensure our guests experience the deep heritage passed down through generations,” Badiola Montaño said.

The Secretary of Tourism also highlighted that the program integrates local businesses in Valle de Guadalupe into the broader regional supply chain, helping extend economic benefits directly to local communities.
By connecting transport providers, hotels, tour operators, restaurants, native community centers, and spas under a unified strategy, the initiative establishes a comprehensive tourism model that reflects the full diversity of Baja California.
