During the information forum, "Infrastructure for Competitiveness and Development," which took place in October in Tijuana; the sub secretary of the State's Urban Infrastructure and Development (SIDUE for its Spanish initials), German Jesus Lizola Marquez, emphasized that the state administration pushed a comprehensive infrastructure project which looks to detonate important sectors such as tourism, industry and bi-national trade.



"It is about works and actions which will facilitate moving products and services, faster border crossings and urban equipment which will allow us to be more competitive," he mentioned.



Lizola Marquez explained that in the Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito metropolitan area, there are plans to close the year with an investment of over $2 billion pesos ($147.7 million dollars).



Likewise, he highlighted the fact that, as a result of the negotiations with the Federal Government byLizola Marquez, the application of 200 million pesos aimed at the redevelopment of the Tijuana-Tecate short path, was achieved. This extension works will double the ability to drive and store goods with direct benefits to the regional economy. He stated that thanks to various works and efforts on border crossings, the streamlining of the booths, has been boosted, which will benefit the economy of the border region.

With regard to water and sanitation, he underlined the source supply diversification with the rehabilitation of wells of the Tijuana River, which would allow the extraction of 2,522,800 meters and financial savings of $8.48 million pesos (about $109,315 USD).



Registered projects to be integrated to the 2015 federal budget



The Baja California state government registered a total of 181 infrastructure projects before various commissions of the LXII Legislature of the Union's Deputy Chamber of Commerce to strengthen areas such as municipal and metropolitan development, tourism, sports, culture, fishing, environment and agriculture; which in total add to more than $4.48 billion pesos (about $330.9 million USD), to be integrated to the 2015 federal budget.



The Deputy Chamber's management contemplates federal order resources, the same which may, in some cases, be complemented with state and municipal resources, in order to promote important areas for the development of the state and the well-being of its citizens.
