It has already made an appearance on the pages of the New York Times, it was only a matter of time then that Baja's culinary experience made the physical trip to the Big Apple.

Baja California's wine and food have made the state a symbol of recovery for a crisis ridden region and an example of innovation using local ingredients for bringing together Mexican flavors and global recipes

So knowing this, New York City seemed like a perfect place to introduce part of the world to such a unique culture and food.

"Baja Meets NYC" is an event scheduled to last several days, where the best wines and food will be showcased in a variety of ways, all done with the goal of making the East Coast learn more about Baja, its wines, its chefs and even its people.

Mexico is already known for its tequila and mezcal, but for several years now, wine has been trying to place itself amongst the the rest of Mexico's famous exports, especially because of its long history in the country, and in Baja California since 1700. It has been slowly getting the recognition it deserves, but there is still a long way to go, although, success is almost now assured.

"Baja Meets NYC" will take place from February 26 to March 2nd, 2014. For more information, see the official event site official site.
