Imagine a warm summer evening in San Diego, surrounded by nature, good food, and a stunning ballet performance under a starry sky. That’s exactly what you can experience on Friday, August 1, as City Ballet of San Diego presents a special open-air performance featuring the next generation of talented dancers.

Dinner and Drinks Before the Ballet

Gates open at 7:00 p.m., giving you time to enjoy a pre-show picnic with light bites, refreshing drinks, snacks, and desserts in a relaxed outdoor setting. It’s the perfect way to ease into an unforgettable night of art and entertainment.

The Evening’s Lineup

The ballet performance begins at 8:00 p.m. and features a thoughtfully curated program designed to captivate audiences:

  • Excerpts from Paquita, choreographed by Elizabeth Wistrich and inspired by the original work of Marius Petipa
  • A jazz-infused piece by resident choreographer Geoffrey Gonzalez (2025)
  • A contemporary ballet piece by Daniel Ulbricht, principal dancer with New York City Ballet
