The popular Book Train Reading Festival is back on track, once again inviting residents of Valle de Mexicali to celebrate the joy of books and Mexican culture. Now in its sixth edition, this year’s festival embraces the theme “Mexican Traditions” and will take place September 24 and 25.

Organized by the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture (IMACUM), the festival aims to spark a love of reading while offering a lively program of artistic and recreational activities for all ages. Festivities will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Niños Héroes Public Library in Ciudad Morelos.

With a mission to help strengthen community ties and deepen connections to local history and traditions, the festival features a “carousel” of activities designed especially for children. Highlights include storytelling sessions, interactive games, craft workshops, educational talks, and artistic performances.

The program also seeks to familiarize families with the services provided year-round by municipal public libraries, ensuring the community continues to benefit long after the festival ends.
