A group of Buddhist monks in Thailand are now being widely criticized after a video was released, in which they can be seen traveling in first class in a private jet, wearing very fashionable sun glasses, carrying name brand traveling luggage like Louis Vuitton, and listening to music on their iPods. But of course, all of this while wearing their monk robes.
Many people were bothered by these images, because the life of a Buddhist monk is supposedly austere, which these photos do not reflect the Buddha's teachings on modesty and simplicity.
One of the monks said that the jet belonged to one of their faithfuls.
The monks who appear in the video have been reprimanded and were asked to not repeat this type of behavior again.
