TIJUANA – The Tijuana fire department has ruled the burned down Sherwin Williams paint processing plant an accident, the incident happened this past February near the central bus terminal in the eastside of the city.

The state’s Attorney General (PGJE) will only file the case since no crime was commited.

The city’s fire department, which took more time than expected in putting out the fire, claim the incident was started by some overheated cables located in the plant’s production area.

However, the Environment Protection Department will issue the company a fine for causing huge environmental damage since there is still no proof that the company had the necessary permits to operate, though they were authorized to store highly flammable substances.
