Mexico was the guest country at Spain’s International Tourism Fair (FITUR), and Baja California’s Tourism Secretary, Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, took the spotlight with a packed schedule focused on promoting the state and attracting investment.

Badiola joined the opening of “Ventana a México,” led by Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora. The event offered a taste of the world-famous Caesar Salad, local wines, and crafts from Yuman communities, showcasing Baja California’s culture, cuisine, and identity to an international audience.

He also participated in the Assembly of Mexico’s Tourism Secretaries, meeting with all 32 state tourism leaders to talk competitiveness, sustainability, and ways to boost Mexico in European markets, key for putting Baja California on the map.

At the Tourism and Investment Forum organized by BBVA Mexico, Badiola joined governors from Guanajuato, Jalisco, and Quintana Roo. Speaking to more than 300 business leaders, he highlighted Mexico’s rich diversity and why it’s an attractive place for tourism investment.

Baja California’s presence at FITUR, running January 21–23, is part of a bigger plan to raise its international profile, build new partnerships, and open doors for tourism and economic growth.
