CBP K9 Detects Over 146 Pounds of Drugs at San Ysidro Port of Entry

The four-legged officer named Immo alerted authorities to the presence of drugs inside a pickup truck.

A detection dog with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intercepted a significant drug shipment at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, leading to the arrest of a driver and the seizure of more than 146 pounds of narcotics.

According to Sidney Aki, CBP Director of Field Operations, the canine, a four-legged officer named Immo, alerted authorities to the presence of drugs inside a pickup truck.

Officers conducted a thorough inspection and discovered 94 pounds of methamphetamine and over 52 pounds of fentanyl powder concealed throughout the vehicle.

Following the seizure, the driver was taken into custody, and a federal criminal case was initiated.

“Another win for K9 Immo and our @CBPGOV officers. Proud of our four-legged partner!” Aki said in a statement.
