The Facebook page also called for a public march, and while it did not have the success expected it is evidence of social discontent. While PRI isn't really paying all that much attention to this, celebrating it's triumph with PRD, they are making a huge mistake. The Tax Reform has a major flaw by design, in that beyond the fact that it strengthens federalism, it also abandons fiscal centralism, where the federation has a larger control of the budget and spending, leaving the rest of the states subject to the political control of the City of Mexico. If that wasn't enough, we are being witnesses to chapter we've already seen before: PRI wants to generate and redistribute wealth by taxing "those who earn more money". Don't believe us? Read the paragraph of the justification for the standardization, which says that since the north has better economic conditions, then they should share them. These are the results of the former presidents Luis Echeverria and Jose Lopez Portillo. The Mexican state has failed to generate wealth, over and over again.

Taking it to the streets

PRI knew how to take advantage of the social conditions in Baja California, we saw business owners and economic leaders and analysts, furious, trying to convince Secretary of Treasury Luis Videgaray to turn down the standardization to no avail, the Department of Treasury imposed their point of view on Congress, which is were the decision actually took place. This circumstance is a great lesson to business and political leaders in Baja California who did not have enough rallying power to make a call on society. If they believed that simply handing out pamphlets on the streets was going to accomplish a lot, it is obvious the results were found lacking. The city goes beyond the downtown area.

What is left

The governor Osuna Millan is on the last few days of his time in office, and elected governor Francisco "Kiko" Vega won't be able to do something since he's not in power yet. However if he is intelligent he'll be able to take advantage of PRI's mistakes to build a new political hegemony for PAN.
