Money from the fine will be donated to "a medical center for children with cancer",announced the WBC though a message, and the suspension of Chavez from boxing will last until he can prove that he is completely rehabilitated from the use of illegal drugs.
Chavez Jr. tested positive for marijuana in the exam he was submitted to after the fight, in which he lost by points in the score cards to the new WBC middleweight champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez.
"It is our wish to fight against the use of illegal drugs, by offering rehabilitation options to the offenders, and not just push them out into our modern society as outcasts", pointed out the WBC.
