The health agency ANVISA has suspended the manufacture of juice brand Andes, which were produced by the Unilever factory in Brazil.
All of this has been the result from a certain amount of cleaning solution that was discovered at the companys property. ANVISA is now recommending for those who have Ades products not to consume it, and in a statement said: "In case of burns or other symptoms, seek immediate medical attention."
Since last week in Brazil, announcements were broadcasted when an apple flavored batch was found packaged with a cleaning product that can cause burns. So far, 96 units have been recollected and secured and no further safety measures have been taken.
However, 14 consumers have already suffered medical problems due to this product, and for this reason, it was decided to suspend production until they learn more about this great error.
Fortunately there have not been any deaths related to this product, which Brazilian authorities said that they will not rest until they get to the bottom of this matter.
This is not the first time that something like this happens, just a few weeks ago, the fast food chain Taco Bell went through some similar problems after finding horse meat in their products.
