Cold Front Brings Cooler Temperatures, Rainy Christmas Forecast for Tijuana

After a cloudy but dry end to the week, Tijuana could see some of its heaviest rainfall of the month in the days leading up to and following Christmas.

A cold front moving through northern Mexico is beginning to affect weather conditions in Tijuana, signaling a noticeable shift toward cooler and wetter conditions in the days ahead. While the end of the week is expected to remain mostly cloudy with areas of fog, forecasts show that the Christmas period could bring some of the wettest weather of the month.

According to weather service Meteored, rain chances are expected to reach 70-80% on multiple days next week, increasing the likelihood of a rainy Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, accompanied by gusty winds and cooler temperatures.

Day-by-day outlook for Tijuana

Temperatures are forecast to dip on Saturday, with partly cloudy skies and highs near 66°F (19°C) and overnight lows around 52°F (11°C). Cooler conditions will be more noticeable in the morning and evening hours.

Cloudy skies and patchy fog are expected on Sunday and Monday, with daytime highs between 64 and 66°F (18–19°C) and lows dropping to 48–50°F (9–10°C).

Rain is expected to begin Tuesday, with precipitation chances near 70%, along with moderate rainfall and stronger wind gusts. Highs are forecast around 68°F (20°C).

On Wednesday, Christmas Eve, rain chances increase to about 80%, with steadier rainfall, gusty winds, and humid conditions. Temperatures are expected to reach about 70°F (21°C), with lows near 61°F (16°C).

Rainy and breezy conditions are expected to continue Thursday and Friday, keeping temperatures cool and prompting officials to advise caution for outdoor holiday plans.

Conditions across Baja California

Mexico’s National Water Commission (CONAGUA) reported partly cloudy skies and generally dry conditions across Baja California, with morning fog expected in western areas of the state. Cooler temperatures are forecast statewide, with cold to very cold conditions in mountainous regions.
