Elisa Ibáñez Aldana, the first woman to lead Coparmex Tijuana, presented the organization’s new board of directors on January 13, 2026, at the Coparmex offices. The event offered an opportunity to meet the new members and outline the agenda for the year ahead.

Board members include Enrique Arturo León Valladolid, Salvador Castellanos Sánchez, Gerardo Gutiérrez Fernández, Pablo César Castañeda Romero, and Gilberto Gamiño Herrera, with Angel Martín del Campo Monge serving as Pro-Secretary and Antonio Ricardo Cano Jiménez as Vice President.

During the press briefing, Ibáñez noted that 2026 will bring significant challenges for the local business community. She highlighted the recent signing of the USMCA as a stabilizing factor amid uncertainty over tariffs with the United States and Canada. She also cited the moderate increase in Mexico’s minimum wage and the new reduction in the standard workweek as measures that will give companies some breathing room.
