Xoloitzcuintles' Joe Corona and Edgar Castillo made it to Jurgen Klinsmann's final roster to represent the United States team during the upcoming exhibition games and 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Based on their performance, the Mexicanamerican soccer players stayed at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando Florida and survived Friday morning's final cuts.

Sweetwater high alumni, Joe Corona, 22, is the only player making his first appearance at the major team roster. During his performance at the U-23 back in March, Corona earned the US team coach's trust scoring 4 goals in only three matches.

"We have said from the beginning that these games are all about results, and we have chosen the 23 players who are in the best form right now and ready to get the job done," said Klinsmann on an interview for US Soccer.

The battle towards the 2014 world finals will start June 8th but first, the United States' team will have a chance

to prepare with three friendly matches, the first one being held this Saturday against Scotland.

Midfielder José Torres from Pachuca and forward Hércules Gómez from the now champions Santos Laguna were called by the red, white and blue team along with Castillo and Corona, all of the from the Mexican League.

For the FIFA World Cup Qualifying, the US hangs in the "A" group, next to Antigua, Barbuda, Guatemala and Jamaica.
