The Buen Fin mega sale is coming to Tijuana from November 13 to 17, one of the most anticipated shopping seasons for thousands of Mexicans across the country. Around 150,000 businesses nationwide are expected to take part in the annual event.

As part of an initiative led by the Tijuana government, officials announced that more than 2,000 free medical passes will be distributed to Mexican nationals living in the United States who cross the border to shop at local businesses.

According to city authorities, the measure will be carried out in collaboration with Tijuana’s Economic Development Department (SEDETI). Shoppers who make purchases at local stores, restaurants, or service providers can visit the Canaco Tijuana offices or designated booths. By presenting a receipt and proof of U.S. residency, they will receive a free medical pass issued by the city.

What are the medical passes for?

The free medical passes are designed as an incentive for U.S. residents visiting Tijuana during El Buen Fin. By showing proof of purchase and residency, visitors can obtain a pass that allows them to speed up their border crossing back into the United States, significantly reducing wait times.

The program aims to boost cross-border commerce and attract more shoppers to local businesses, taking advantage of the surge in visitors that accompanies Mexico’s biggest annual sales event.
