The temporary suspension of the brewery Constellation Brands in Mexicali is not enough, opponents to its construction clarified. The local deputy, Luis Moreno, says that he needs to give the order to cancel definitively this work.
Moreno, deputy for the Social Encounter Party, told Sintesis TV that the support of the state government towards the transnational company and not the Mexicali Valley farmers is incongruous. Affirming that it was argued for years that there was no money to extract water from wells and now intend to build an aqueduct for the company.
While the work is suspended, the trade union will investigate the possible impacts of the installation of this big brewery in Mexicali, including the issue of water scarcity.
