Tijuana.- A few hours after hundreds of residents demonstrated against violence in the country a man was found hung from a bridge Sunday night.

The state Attorney General’s Office said Monday that the victim had not been identified although he was 20 to 25 years old, had dark features and was short in stature.

His body was found around 11:30 p.m. hanging from the Pemex bridge in the La Gloria neighborhood, in the southern district of San Antonio de los Buenos.

His feet and hands were tied with a green nylon rope. A white cotton rope was tied around his neck. His killers tucked a pink-colored paper with a message under his right arm, said authorities, who did not disclose what it said.

Last October on that same site, two men were found hung to death. A poster was found with them with a message that threatend other criminal groups.

Months later, state authorities said the message was directed at drug dealers who had not paid their suppliers and had switched alligiances to another group.

Seven hours before the body was found Sunday, around 300 people had gathered at the Independencia traffic circle in the Rio zone to protest drug-related bloodshed wracking parts of Mexico. Some participants demanded the government stop its war against traffickers because it was only breeding more violence.
